An important lesson you need to learn

I pride myself on being a very compassionate, empathetic health professional, but sometimes even I get frustrated.

Especially when a client says to me, “Oh, I’m too far gone.”  Or, “It’s too late for me.”

Because NOTHING could be farther from the truth!

I’ll use last night’s Super Bowl as an example.  Even if you’re not a sports fan, hear me out because this is important.

The Chiefs were trailing the 49ers 20-10 well into the 4th quarter, and it probably felt like the game was over to a lot of people.

But lo and behold, Patrick Mahomes and crew said, “No, it’s not over” and scored 21 unanswered points to take home the Lombardi trophy.

I want you to learn a lesson from that.

No, I don’t expect you to take the field in an NFL game, but instead embrace the belief and spirit the Chiefs had and apply it to your health!

It’s NEVER too late, and you can ALWAYS improve your health.

Here’s what I’m talking about:

Have the belief and spirit of a winner!

No matter where you’re starting from, your body WILL benefit in some way from adopting a healthier lifestyle--that is a certainty.

Having the spirit of a winner in your life can lead to some very exciting unexpected health changes like these:

  • More regular BMs
  • Less heartburn, gas and bloating
  • More energy
  • Weight loss
  • Sleeping more soundly at night
  • Fewer aches and pains
  • Needing less medication

Don’t listen to the nay-sayers

If anyone around you brings you down and tries to tell you that you can’t make a difference in your health, or you’re not good enough or strong enough or smart enough, kindly look them in the eye and say, “You couldn’t be more wrong.”

And then prove them wrong.

Someone once told me that my running stride was terrible.

Well, that “horrible” running stride of mine carried me for 26.2 miles in my very first marathon in 2012….and then my second in 2016 and third in 2018.  (And yes, I am training for a fourth this year.)

Refuse to make excuses

If you allow excuses to enter your mind, you’re done before you start.

Here’s a great quote about excuses that I want you to remember:

We make time for the things that we want to make time for, and excuses for everything else.

Don’t be an excuse maker when it comes to your health.

Your basic 3-step plan to better health at any age!

If you’re ready to make a significant difference in your state of health, here is a very effective 3-step plan that will help get the ball rolling for you so you can turn your health (and LIFE!) around...

1- Nourish your body and support sound digestion

The single most disease-preventing, health-enhancing and lifesaving measure you can take is having a nutritious diet of real foods.

If you eat a typical "modern diet" of processed food, fast food or refined carbs, you can count on being sick--it's a given.

Plus, if you have poor digestion, you are opening the door for inflammation-causing wastes to accumulate in your system and make you toxic.

Diseases love a nice, toxic body--they thrive in that environment.  This is especially true of cancer.

So, it’s essential to eat the foods that give your body the nutrients it needs to fight disease, and encourage proper elimination of wastes.

Concentrate on real foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry and fish, eggs, nuts, healthy fats and pure filtered water.

And make your meals easier for your body to break down too!  The key lies in what foods you eat together—certain meal combinations are a breeze for your system to tackle, and others are a nightmare!

My Great Taste No Pain system can guide you on exactly what to do.

Great Taste No Pain teaches you the few simple principles you'll need to know to make all of your meals tasty, super nutritious and much easier to digest.

When your body is armed with the nutrients it needs, it can better heal itself and fight disease

And when your digestion is efficient, you can eliminate toxins, viruses and harmful bacteria like you should, instead of having them be absorbed into circulation and making you sick.

2- Support healthy Vitamin D levels

Although ALL nutrients are important in their own way, Vitamin D stands out as a superstar because it helps pave the way for great health in SO many ways.

Here are highlights of its impressive benefits:

  • Maintaining proper blood sugar levels—vital for diabetics
  • Cancer prevention
  • Digestion and absorption of nutrients
  • Bone health
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Heart and cardiovascular health
  • Proper immune function—especially with respect to flu prevention and autoimmune diseases
  • Prevention of mood swings and depression
  • Neurological health
  • Muscle health
  • Skin and hair health
  • Proper pancreatic function (crucial for blood sugar control and efficient digestion)
  • Reproductive health
  • Respiratory health

Whew!

Unfortunately, Vitamin D is also a very common deficiency due to limited sunlight in the winter months, and (exaggerated) fears of skin cancer that scare people into shunning the sun and slathering on toxic sunscreen.

To make sure you maintain health-supporting levels of this crucial nutrient 365 days a year, let Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B fill this critical for you.  Optimum DK Formula contains a therapeutic 5,000 IU dose of Vitamin D3, plus its important partners Vitamin K (in the forms of K1 and K2) and the mineral boron.

All of these nutrients work synergistically to help enhance your health in so many ways as well as fight disease!

3- Get sweating

I know.  Exercise is a dirty word to a lot of people.  But there’s no getting around it—there is no “magic pill or diet” out there, and you just can’t replace its health benefits in any other way!

Here are just some of the ways exercise transforms your health:

  • Weight management: Regular physical activity helps to increase muscle mass and decrease body fat.
  • Decreased heart disease risk: Physical activity strengthens heart muscles, lowers resting heart rate and blood pressure, and improves blood lipids.
  • Reduced cancer risk: Being overweight increases a person's risk of cancer, so physical activity can help reduce cancer risk by reducing weight.
  • Decreased back pain: Exercise can increase muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and posture.
  • Lower risk of type 2 diabetes: Regular physical activity can lead to decreases in blood glucose and insulin resistance.
  • Healthy bones: Physical activity encourages bone formation and slows the progression of bone loss.
  • Enhanced sleep quality: Regular exercise is a natural stress reducer, it improves mood and encourages more restful sleep.

Remember to get your doctor’s OK (especially if you haven’t moved in quite some time), pick an activity you like and get moving.

You CAN make a difference--it's never too late

If you are sick, have a disease, are overweight, take multiple medications or all of the above, learn a lesson from the Super Bowl champion Chiefs:

It's never too late!

Give your body the help it needs to give YOU a life free of pain, disease and an endless sea of dangerous medications.

I’ll be cheering for you all the way!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

  • I stumbled on your post in the “Spam” section of my in-box. That’s odd since I have been subscribing to your post for a number of years-lol!! Anyway, your point is well taken! And I can say this from experience as I have recovered from an “aggressive” cancer diagnosis in June of 2012, SEVEN, almost eight years ago!! I took NO CHEMO, NO RADIATION, NO SURGERY. I did go ORGANIC GREENS, FRUITS, MEATS (in limited quantity), WILD CAUGHT FISH (again in limited quantity), HIGH IUs OF VITAMIN D3 & B12, EXPOSURE TO ABOUT 1 HOUR OF SUNLIGHT, 2 – 3 DAYS A WEEK (very easy to do here in sunny southern Arizona), this along with BRISK WALKING and SPENDING MORE TIME OUTSIDE IN THE OPEN FRESH AIR. Right now, I am presently going through a course of acupuncture treatment, once a week for periodic anxiety. The anxiety has lessened considerably. No, I’m not “perfect” in following this health regimen, but I can honestly say that I have done so about 93% of the time. At 63 years of age, my naturopath has told me that my body flexibility, blood pressure, pulse and overall health is like that of an athlete 35 years younger than myself. Translation: Everything you’ve said in this post is absolutely true. I’m living proof of it!
