You’ve been lied to—glyphosate is deadly

Ever hear the saying that money can’t hide the truth forever?

Well, no truer words were ever spoken.

Because the truth is finally being revealed about glyphosate—the main ingredient in the weed killer Roundup—and it’s pretty ugly.

And the most concerning thing here is that it is literally poisoning EVERYBODY—even if you don’t use Roundup around your shrubs.

Here’s what you must know:

From antibiotic to weed killer and more

Glyphosate was first introduced in the US market in 1974, and since then its use has increased over 250-fold.  It was originally designed as an antibiotic, but then its use as a weed killer literally exploded.

As a matter of fact, nearly 5 billion pounds of it are currently sprayed on farmlands around the world each and every year!

That’s nearly 7 times the weight of the Empire State Building, sprayed in chemicals year after year.

Plus its use has expanded beyond a weed killer.  Now it’s used as a compound in desiccating grains, legumes and beans, preparing them for harvesting, and there is no process for ensuring that the glyphosate is removed from these crops!

You are what you eat

Back in the early 1990s, very few people had detectable levels of glyphosate in their urine.

But by 2016, 70 percent of people tested had detectable glyphosate levels!

First and foremost, this is the result of glyphosate use in our food.  It’s been detected in everything from Ben and Jerry’s ice cream to Quaker Oats, wines, orange juice, SunChips and even infant formula!

Plus glyphosate is water soluble, so our streams, rivers, lakes and oceans are contaminated too.

And it’s even in the air we breathe!  You can’t expect 5 billion pounds of anything to be sprayed over the globe and not be circulating in the air.

So what’s the big deal?

Monsanto has claimed that its precious cash cow Roundup® is harmless to animals and humans because it uses what is called the shikimate acid pathway to kill weeds, and this metabolic pathway is absent in people and pets.

But that’s not exactly true.

Because the shikimate pathway is present in BACTERIA, and that includes your gut bacteria—otherwise known as your microbiome, which is basically the center of your health, immune system and existence.

Glyphosate disrupts bacteria’s ability to function—that’s a reflection of its antibiotic properties.

What makes this worse is that it PREFERS to attack your beneficial bacteria, thereby allowing dangerous organisms to flourish and overcome your microbiome.  At that point, you become a candidate for any number of viruses, infections and diseases because you are lacking the protection of your immune system.

It also removes important minerals from your body including iron, cobalt and manganese, and interferes with your body’s use of certain amino acids.  This can affect your levels of important neurotransmitters and folate.

It can impair the functioning of your pituitary, which can impact its release of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), thereby leading to hypothyroidism (low functioning thyroid).  From there any number of problems can arise, including weight gain, low energy, infertility, depression and more.

Plus glyphosate has been linked to certain cancers (including lymphomas and lung cancer), and to DNA damage, premature births, birth defects and ADHD.

As if all that isn’t enough, glyphosate can also destroy the villi in your intestinal wall, and reduce your body’s ability to absorb nutrients.  This can increase your risk for deficiency diseases as well as obesity.

Minimize your exposure!

Here’s how you can help minimize your exposure to deadly glyphosate and its gruesome impact on your health:

Avoid processed foods

Glyphosate has been found extensively in processed foods of all kinds.

The answer here is easy—stick to real foods and avoid packaged junk and soda as much as possible.

Buy organic whenever you can

People who eat organic food were found to have an 80 percent lower level of glyphosate in their bodies.

So try to buy as much organic meat, milk and produce as possible.

If you're on a tight budget and can't afford to go 100 percent organic, here are the produce items which are the most tainted and are important to buy organic:

  • Celery
  • Peaches
  • Strawberries
  • Apples
  • Blueberries
  • Nectarines
  • Bell Peppers
  • Spinach
  • Cherries
  • Kale/Collard Greens
  • Potatoes
  • Grapes

Also take advantage of farmers’ markets, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs and local farms.  You’ll be supporting your health and helping your local farmers, which is a win-win!

Most importantly--Help your gut microbiome recover!

Unless you’ve been diligent about eating 100 percent organic, non-processed food, chances are excellent your gut microbiome may have already taken a harmful hit from glyphosate.

In addition to a healthy diet of real foods, supplementation with a top-quality probiotic like Super Shield can help your friendly gut bacteria bounce back and provide their sickness and disease-fighting protection.

Contrary to what you might think, your friendly microbes are not “permanent residents”—they only “vacation” inside of you for up to 12 days.  So it’s crucial to consistently help repopulate these healthful good guys so they can in turn protect YOU!

And Super Shield’s 13 strains of potent, feisty, well-studied bacteria are up to this important challenge!

Also helpful are fermented foods like kefir, sauerkraut and kimchi, so stock up on those as well.

Although glyphosate is all around us, you can certainly help minimize its harmful effects on you!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

  • Why does it sound inevitable that we should allow Monsanto to poison all of us? Surely we should be shouting from the rooftops to stop this amoral company.
