The best way to detox

If you were to do an internet search for “detox” or “cleanse,” the results you’d get would number into the hundreds of millions.

Detoxing and cleansing the body is BIG business, with a wide variety of products and protocols to choose from, including juices, fasts and special diets.

While there’s nothing wrong with wanting your innards to be clean, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on fancy products…

Because your body already has a detox system in place!

It’s called SWEATING.

And based on a growing number of studies, sweating is showing itself to be much more than just a nuisance that makes your shirt wet under your armpits.

Here’s the scoop:

Our world of toxic chemicals

It might sound unsettling, but we literally live in a toxic soup with chemicals and pollutants assaulting our bodies from every direction.

Even if we make conscious efforts to keep it “green and clean”—avoiding herbicides and pesticides, using safe, natural personal and homecare products, choosing organic foods whenever possible, filtering our water and avoiding cigarette smoke, the fact is toxins are all around us and it’s impossible to avoid them 100 percent.

Whatever you are exposed to can become a part of YOU, and it will nestle its way into your cells, comfortably remaining there until and unless you excrete them.

But keep in mind these toxins are anything BUT innocent and harmless!

For example, petroleum derived ingredients like mineral oil have been associated with liver and spleen inflammation and certain cancers.

Heavy metals like lead can damage the brain and nervous system, the stomach, kidneys, thyroid and liver. It can also cause high blood pressure and other health problems.  And aluminum can cause disturbed sleep, emotional instability, memory loss, headaches, and impaired thinking.

Phthalates (found in plastics) have been linked to hormonal changes, lower sperm count, birth defects in the male reproductive system, diabetes, thyroid problems and obesity.

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are flame retardant chemicals that can cause thyroid disorders and DNA damage, and are associated with plaque formations in the brain (a characteristic of Alzheimer’s).

And this is just a partial list!

Enter the power of sweat!

The good news is your brilliant body can wage an all-out war against dangerous toxins and send them running for the hills when you sweat.

Sweating has been shown in various studies to eliminate the following toxins:

  • Persistent organic pollutants (solvents, fumigants and insecticides, including DDT)
  • Phthalates
  • Heavy metals including lead, aluminum, nickel and cadmium
  • Bisphenol A (BPA)—an endocrine disruptor found in canned foods and plastic water bottles
  • PBDEs

But wait!  There’s much more!

In addition to helping your body eliminate disease-causing toxins, here are 7 other ways that sweating is where it’s at in terms of keeping you healthy!

1- Sweating helps your body maintain a proper temperature and prevents you from overheating.

2- It cleans your pores, which helps eliminate acne.  Pimples come from within, and all the acne washes, lotions and toners can’t change that.  You have to clean your pores from the inside out.

3- Sweating expels accumulated wastes from your body.  If you don’t get rid of these, not only can they make you sick but they will give you the most horrible BO that even deodorant can’t cover up.

4- It also kills viruses and bacteria that cannot survive in temperatures over 98.6°F.

5- Sweating and hydrating with water helps flush out your kidneys and prevent kidney stones.  Anyone that has ever been on their knees in excruciating pain with kidney stones will tell you this is a good idea.

6- Your sweat acts as an antibiotic on your skin for scratches and insect bites.

7- Sweating improves blood circulation, relieves stress and promotes relaxation.  The ripple effect of these can be enormous, including lower blood pressure, weight loss, stronger immune function and better sleep!

Time to face the music

Now that you know all that sweating does for you, it’s time to engage the power of your body’s natural detox system in the most ideal way!

And you know what that means…

Yup—regular exercise.

Now don’t grunt and roll your eyes—exercise CAN be enjoyable!  Just get your doctor’s OK, and simply start by going for a brisk walk 3-4 days a week.  I bet you’ll see the difference in how you feel very quickly, plus you’ll probably take some weight off too!

If you’re lacking energy for exercise, a vitamin B12 energy boost might be just what you need.  Check out our very own Hydroxaden 2.5 B12 spray and see what a difference it can make in your energy level!

Other ways to work up a sweat can include:

  • Infrared sauna
  • Infrared blankets
  • Spending time outdoors on a hot sunny day
  • Soaking in a hot tub

Remember—whatever form of sweating you decide to engage in, it’s very important to stay hydrated with filtered water!

Get going and sweat those toxins out of you!  Your body will thank you in many ways.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia
