What to do (and what NOT to do) for IBS

What to do (and what NOT to do) for IBS

Researchers at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute recently found that certain “itch” receptors that cause itchy skin in humans can also exist in our guts.

They contend that these itch receptors can activate nerve cells in the gut, which in turn can trigger the pain that is so common with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Of course, they are hoping that drugs targeting these itch receptors may be the new forefront in IBS treatment.

Sorry, but I don’t buy it.

Finding another way (besides opioids and other pain drugs) to address IBS pain does ZILCH for what is causing that pain and what is truly going on behind the scenes with IBS…

POOR DIGESTION!

Here is what you really need to know about how to get lasting relief from IBS (without pain drugs).

What IBS really is

IBS is nothing but absolutely, totally and immensely screwed up digestion.  Sorry—it’s not glamorous, but that’s the truth.

It is characterized by chronic and often debilitating abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, gas and “beach ball belly” bloating—all signs that your digestion is not being carried out like it should be!

So, it only makes sense that if you support your body and help it accomplish digestion the way it was designed to, you can feel tremendous relief!

Here are four ways you can help support tip-top digestion and say goodbye to IBS:

1- Eat for better digestion

When you look at what the average person eats today, it should be no surprise that IBS is so common.

Considering our typical diets loaded with processed foods, fast food, soda and horribly hard to digest meals, it's easy to see why so many people suffer digestive disaster every day.

But that can be turned around very easily by simply eating for better digestion--like I can guide you to do in the Great Taste No Pain health system!

Great Taste No Pain shows you why specific foods and food combinations cause digestive problems like gas, bloating, constipation and diarrhea—all the classic IBS symptoms! —plus heartburn and acid reflux too.

It's all based on simple chemistry and the way your body digests different foods.

There are also guides that show you how to put together meals that your system can break down MUCH easier, and a collection of delicious recipes to try. You'll be shocked at how great you can feel after eating for a change (and how nice and flat and quiet your stomach can be).

2- Balance your microbiome

Nothing can ruin your digestion faster and easier than harmful bacteria overgrowth (also known as dysbiosis) in your intestinal tract.

You see, the beneficial bacteria in your gut help digest certain carbs and fiber.  So when these microscopic good guys are overcome by harmful bacteria, they can't do their job as well.

As a result, carbs can end up fermenting inside of you instead and...

Your belly blows up like a pan of Jiffy Pop Popcorn!

Having a healthy, easy to digest diet is essential for a well-balanced gut microbiome, but even if you do eat healthy, the bacteria population in your gut can be thrown off by medications, stress, lack of sleep or environmental toxins.

That's why probiotic supplementation is so important to help ensure that your microbiome is in a health-supporting balance.

And Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula is up to this vital task!

Super Shield contains 13 of the most feisty, well-studied effective strains of bacteria available. Studies show that a wide variety of strains is important to helping the greatest number of people, since each strain has its own "specialty" in terms of how it helps your body and smoothes out your digestion.

3- Fight back at SIBO

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is now being recognized as a leading underlying cause of IBS.

SIBO occurs when bacteria that normally colonize in your large intestine “swim upstream” and get into the small intestine.  But the small intestine is not equipped to handle the actions of these “foreigners from below.”

This can impact your absorption of nutrients and stir up gas, bloating and diarrhea—the most common IBS symptoms—plus it can also cause joint pain, fatigue, rashes, eczema, acne, and even depression.

Up until now people with SIBO had only one treatment option—antibiotics—which can further disrupt your already topsy-turvy microbiome and make you vulnerable to recurrences!

Well, things have finally changed for the better because now there’s SIBO Defense Blend!

SIBO Defense Blend provides two of the most effective yet safe antimicrobials found in Nature—oregano oil and garlic!

Oregano oil has been shown to be comparable in strength to antibiotics, but the difference is it’s safer and gentler to the friendly bacteria in your intestinal tract!

Garlic has been used since the dawn of time to fight infections and viruses.

And both oregano and garlic are natural anti-inflammatories too!  So in addition to getting things back into a healthier balance in your intestinal tract, they’ll also help soothe the inflammation you likely have going on from SIBO.

4- Get enough Vitamin D

Current research shows that 75 percent of people with IBS are low in vitamin D, and about 70 percent report improvement when taking vitamin D supplements!

It’s no wonder when you consider vitamin D’s role in taming inflammatory responses, especially in the gut!

And for the very finest in vitamin D products, look no farther than Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B.

Optimum DK Formula contains a therapeutic dose of 5,000 IUs of vitamin D3, plus its partners vitamin K and the mineral boron, which work together synergistically to help counteract inflammatory actions, encourage strong immune and cardiovascular health and support strong bones too!

Come on over!

I speak with expert authority about IBS…because I suffered from it for over 15 years, and it has been the primary focus of my nutrition practice.

But I have been completely symptom- and medication-free for the last 27 years solely due to my diet, improved digestion and probiotic supplementation.

I will never forget the horrible suffering I endured with IBS, as well as the drug side effects to boot, and trust me, life is very SWEET indeed when you can finally close the door on it.

Come on over to your new IBS-free world and see how great you can feel.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

  • Hi Sherry,

I eat a lot of veggies throughout the day and every time it runs through me. Could this be SIBO ??
My typical lunch is a handful of Carrots, peppers ,celery. Sometimes I’ll make a sugar free broccoli salad or a regular salad .

  • Thank you for the response. I am trying to eat more often and know I need to get more exercise as well to build stronger muscles.

  • @ Diane Bell. My suggestion. Eat more often :) of the same healthy (and well combined) food you are already eating. I was in the same situation, specifically since I also started exercising in addition to Sherry’s guidance. I lost 35 lbs. So I eat more (but with the same guidance). It is great. My gut is healthy now (it was a mess – i had all sorts of problems). I am 50+ years and I am now as lean as when I was in college, stronger than I ever was (ie. in terms of weight lifting – arms, shoulders, legs, chest, etc) and can run as long as used to when I was in my 20s/30s.

  • Dear Sherry and Team,
I have been on this diet for many years now and it has worked wonders for me. In the beginning, I lost 35 lbs by just following the diet. Now, however, I am still losing and do not need to lose any more weight. How do I follow the diet without losing weight? Thank you!
