If there’s one thing that’s becoming painfully obvious, it’s the increasing level of desperation reflected in the words and actions of the pharmaceutical industry and mainstream medicine.
Why the desperation? Because people are finally asking questions, that’s why.
Since John D. Rockefeller hijacked the medical industry in 1910, paving the way for endless revenue streams creating pharmaceuticals from his oil company’s by-products while damning all forms of “alternative” (i.e.: natural) healing measures, as well as taking over the American Medical Association (AMA) and creating the National Cancer Society in 1913, mainstream medicine and pharma have enjoyed quite a long history of “Do as we say; Take this drug; Don’t ask questions; Your diet doesn’t matter; Other forms of treatment are quackery; and Don’t waste your money on supplements.”
Well, since we are now FAR sicker than we’ve EVER been in our existence, people are finally starting to put two and two together, they’re doing independent research instead of accepting everything on blind faith, and increasing numbers are seeking alternative answers.
As you can imagine this isn’t going over very well with the industry that profits from your sickness.
So what do they do? Try to undermine, discredit and demean the natural health industry, that’s what.
A study I recently came across is the perfect example of this…
The multi-vitamin study
A large data analysis of 390,124 “healthy” US adults that were followed for 20 years or more found no association between regular multi-vitamin use and a lower risk of death from any cause.
It also specified that there were also no differences in mortality from heart disease, cerebrovascular diseases or cancer.
The 2024 analysis, published in JAMA Network Open, was conducted by a researcher from the National Cancer Institute, but I’m sure that played no role whatsoever.
What the study doesn’t tell you
As is typical with “studies” like this, the researchers zeroed in on just one relationship—multi-vitamin use and risk of death—while conveniently leaving out a plethora of very pertinent information!
Things such as these:
Diet
Nothing plays a bigger role in your level of health than your diet. In fact, it’s even more significant than genetics or your environment.
So, leaving dietary habits out of the study prompts many unanswered questions like:
- Do the participants regularly eat fruit and vegetables? Or do they exist on McDonald’s and Little Caesar’s?
- What types of fats do they consume?
- What is their sugar and refined carbohydrate intake?
- How much do they rely on processed foods?
- Do they get healthy sources of protein?
Let me assure you, if the study participants had anything even remotely resembling a typical American Diet, it's no wonder a multi-vitamin wouldn’t make a difference.
Level of exercise
Exercise is second only to diet in determining your level of health.
But we have no information on the level of activity of the participants. Were they 390,000 couch potatoes? Who knows?
Mountains of research have shown the significant impact of regular exercise on a person’s level of health and prevention of disease, so to ignore the exercise habits of the participants basically makes the study meaningless.
The definition of “healthy”
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the nutrition field, it’s people’s definitions of “healthy” can vary greatly.
I once consulted with a nurse who told me she was “healthy” because her cholesterol was controlled with Lipitor, her blood pressure stayed good with Amlodipine, and Prilosec kept her acid reflux at bay.
That’s healthy?
No—that’s a chemically-induced absence of symptoms and in no way represents true health.
But yet again, we have no idea what meds (if any) the participants took and the side effects of said medications.
So, what about those multi-vitamins?
One of the claims that many doctors make about multi-vitamin use is that, “You can get all the nutrients you need from your diet.”
Sorry, that’s simply not true.
It may have been true at one time, long ago when we consistently ate fresh locally grown foods, but those days are long gone.
Now we are looking at a variety of reasons and factors that prevent the average person from completely and consistently getting all the nutrients their bodies need from the foods they eat.
Here are three of the major ones:
1) Changes in what we call “food”
Over the last 100 years, we have ventured farther and farther away from what Nature provides us with for nourishment.
I’m referring to processed foods.
What originally started out about a century ago as a method to transport food to remote areas without spoilage (with items such as canned vegetables) has exploded into a seemingly endless variety of “food-stuffs” that not only don’t nourish you but actually rob your body of nutrients as it fights the onslaught of sugar and chemicals that this garbage contains.
2) Changes in how we grow and raise our food
Due to bioengineering of crops, genetic modifications and depletion of soil minerals because of mass-farming, our food today is not as nutritious as it once was.
The current version of many crops contains lower levels of calcium, phosphorus, iron, riboflavin (vitamin B2), and vitamin C than they did in 1950.
The magnesium content of vegetables and wheat has declined by up to 25 percent.
Trace minerals in crops, including manganese, zinc, copper, and nickel, have decreased over the last several decades, while heavy metals like aluminum, lead, and cadmium have increased.
Animals are affected too.
The animals we raise for our consumption are no longer allowed to graze in pastures as they once did. Instead, they are fed a grain-based diet (many times GMO grains!) which has severely decreased the anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fats that we used to get from their meat and eggs.
At the same time, the inflammation-stirring Omega-6 fatty acids in the products from these animals (due to their grain-based diets) have increased dramatically.
3) Medications
Here is the US, we comprise only 5 percent of the world’s population, yet we consume 75 percent of the world’s prescription drugs.
That’s nothing to brag about.
And many of these drugs destroy your digestion, which in turn impairs your ability to absorb nutrients!
Types of medications that impact digestion include: antacids, antibiotics, antispasmodics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, hypertension drugs, antipsychotics, cholesterol drugs (statins), diuretics, opiates, and acetaminophen.
The bottom line
The bottom line here is that supplementing with a complete multi-vitamin and mineral formula is the only 100 percent reliable way to ensure your body consistently has what it needs!
And our Super Core multi-vitamin and mineral formula is your ticket to solid nutrition.
I hand selected all the nutrients in Super Core to provide an effective, health-supporting variety of essential vitamins and minerals.
Plus, Super Core’s effective blend goes way beyond most other multis and also includes natural sources of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories!
Antioxidants are your body’s “protective army” against the dangerous effects of free radicals.
Free radicals have been associated with premature aging, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, Type 2 diabetes, cataracts, and arthritis, among other things.
Antioxidants help control free radicals and combat their dangerous effects…but they can only carry out this important job if there are enough of them!
Super Core contains antioxidant vitamins C and E plus zinc and selenium, as well as lutein, lycopene, and zeaxanthin, resveratrol and the “cream of the antioxidant crop”—alpha lipoic acid!
Anti-inflammatories are also becoming increasingly important for the average person.
Many of us are in states of chronic inflammation due to things like consumption of refined carbohydrates, smoking, medication use, gut microbiome imbalances and stress.
Super Core’s unique formula includes the soothing natural anti-inflammatories turmeric, Indian frankincense extract and ginger—herbs that have been recognized for centuries for their inflammation-fighting properties.
Give your body what it needs!
Nutrition is the #1 key to a healthy, disease-free existence.
So, start first with a diet of wholesome real foods!
Then cover whatever areas in which you may be occasionally or consistently lacking with Super Core.
And pave the way for better health and feeling great into your golden years!
To your health,
Sherry Brescia
