Why modern medicine is an abysmal failure

I once had a client who was a textbook illustration of the failure of modern medicine.

He came to me reporting a medical history of fainting episodes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heartburn.

He said his medications included these:

  • Ranitidine (for heartburn)
  • Hydrochlorothiazide (for hypertension)
  • Amlodipine (for hypertension)
  • Atorvastatin (for cholesterol)

After talking with him about his fainting episodes and reviewing his diet record, I began to suspect that he was allergic to sesame, as every single fainting episode occurred after he ate something with sesame or sesame oil.  So I told him to avoid sesame at all cost and see if his fainting stops.

I also suggested that he talk with his doctor about safe, natural alternatives to the drugs he was taking, including VitalMega-3 fish oil for his high blood pressure and cholesterol, and Gastro BeCalm Blend for occasional bouts of heartburn.

In addition, I strongly urged him to start exercising (which would also help improve his blood pressure and cholesterol) and stay away from fast and convenience foods, which sadly comprised most of his diet.

He went back to his doctor and told him what I suggested.  He was promptly told to ignore everything I said because, “She doesn’t know what she is talking about,” and he should continue taking his meds.

That, my friend, is why modern medicine is such an abysmal failure.

It’s focused on MEDICINE to the exclusion of ALL else.

What is “medicine” really?

“Medicine” is defined as:  Any substance or substances used in treating disease or illness; medicament; remedy.

I don’t see where it states that the “substances” have to be created in a lab by a pharmaceutical company.

The fact is, herbs and nutrients had been used as remedies for centuries, but once pharmaceuticals hit the scene over the last 100 years or so, these safe, natural substances were unjustly cast aside and poo-pooed as ineffective or useless.

What boggles my mind is that drugs don’t actually “cure” a thing—all they do is interfere with, alter, suppress or thwart one or more of your body’s functions or processes in order to achieve a desired “result.”

This “result” may include forcing you to fit into the right “numbers box,” such as blood pressure under 120/80 or cholesterol under 200, or perhaps shutting down your stomach’s ability to produce acid for digestion in order to curb heartburn.

And the only way to keep getting the result is to keep taking the drug!

Plus let’s not forget side effects!  Every single medication known to man comes with a LONG list of side effects.

But never fear!  Because when side effects do pop up, you’ll get even MORE medications to cover them up.

Do you see the madness in this?  I call it running on the white coat treadmill.

Let me clue you in--you’re not creating anything even resembling health here.  You’re creating a chemically-induced absence of symptoms and a nice revenue stream for drug companies.

Herbs and nutrients, on the other hand, help support your body’s efforts to heal itself and restore its inner balance to a proper state of function and health.

See the difference?

Get down to the business of creating HEALTH

While drugs are necessary at times, the fact is that we are far too dependent on them to create false health for us and are opening up the door for dangerous side effects to boot.

But it can make an enormous difference to help your body along and supports its efforts to heal and work like it should—in other words, aim to create HEALTH!

Here’s how:

1- Rely on the farmer—not the pharmacist

See what a difference it can make to use food as your medicine with the right diet and sound digestion!

I can guide you through this important step with my Great Taste No Pain health system.

Great Taste No Pain stresses the importance of wholesome real foods like fresh vegetables and fruits, meats, poultry and fish, real butter and healthy fats.

Plus it teaches you the science of food combining which shows you how to pair foods together in your meals to pave the way for smooth, comfortable digestion.

This is crucial because if your digestion is poor, in addition to gas, bloating, heartburn and constipation being your regular companions, you will not be absorbing nutrients like you should, and that sets the stage for disease to come knocking.

With Great Taste No Pain you'll also get menu suggestions and a collection of delicious, easy recipes that make eating for great health thoroughly enjoyable!

2- Support your gut microbiome

Many pharmaceutical drugs can be murder on your gut microbiome—this is especially true of antibiotics, acid reducers, pain medications, antidepressants and steroids.

The beneficial bacteria in your intestinal tract house 80 percent of your immune system as well as help keep your digestion smooth and efficient.

So if you're lacking a strong, healthy population of helpful microbes in your gut, your digestion is most assuredly compromised, and your immune function may be weakened—so you are without its vital protection against infections, viruses and disease.

In addition to having a healthy diet of real foods, supplementation with a potent multi-strain probiotic like Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula can go a long way in supporting a healthy gut environment.

Super Shield's 13 high-quality strains of potent friendly bacteria are ready to help strengthen your gut wall, enhance your digestion, encourage regular BMs and beef up your immune system.

And if you do need to take any medications (especially antibiotics), Super Shield can help counteract their harmful effects in your gut!

3- Search out natural remedies

In nearly every instance, there is a safe, natural answer to health issues.  Our Gastro BeCalm Blend that I mentioned earlier contains 4 herbs (mastic gum, marshmallow, ginger and licorice) that are VERY effective in easing heartburn.

And the Omega-3 fish oil in VitalMega-3 has shown itself in tens of thousands of studies to be an impressive anti-inflammatory, helping with high blood pressure, aches and pains, cholesterol, depression and much more!

4- Get regular exercise

Pick an activity you like and do it at least 4 to 5 times a week.  Even brisk walking is good and practically everyone can do that!

Just be sure to get your doctor’s OK first.

5- Reduce stress

Stress directly impacts your gut microbiome, weakens your immune function and destroys your digestion, so do what you must to reduce stress in your life.

Regular exercise has been shown to be extremely helpful, as well as counseling, prayer, deep breathing, massage, acupuncture, and even adopting a pet!

Take the steps you need to help create REAL HEALTH from within.

You’ll never regret it.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

  • My ex-husband and I had always managed to stay friendly after our divorce in February 2017. But I always wanted to get back together with him, All it took was a visit to this spell casters website last December, because my dream was to start a new year with my husband, and live happily with him.. This spell caster requested a specific love spell for me and my husband, and I accepted it. And this powerful spell caster began to work his magic. And 48 hours after this spell caster worked for me, my husband called me back for us to be together again, and he was remorseful for all his wrong deeds. My spell is working because guess what: My “husband” is back and we are making preparations on how to go to court and withdraw our divorce papers ASAP. This is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you Dr Emu for your powerful spells. Words are not enough.

  • About the comments made by Drew Hassan. I think he is lacking knowledge about – Functional Doctors. They practice medicine checking out all of the person’s background to search for root causes without piling on unnecessary meds. Sherry is in line with them. She referred me to a functional doctor about some of my issues. She was right on target!

  • I have the same story as Dan. Went to the doctor for acid reflux. The doctor prescribed acid meds that worked for a while then stopped. Then prescribed another which stopped working after a couple of weeks. I went on-line looking for natural alternatives and found your book. I also recommended your book to someone recently who had been through test after test and they couldn’t find anything wrong with her. She is now pain free!

  • Anecdotal evidence does not a cure make. On the contrary it can lead to real problems when taken as “gospel” The difference between what you do and what medical practitioners do ( the majority at least ) is contained in your own disclaimer …. The information in our articles are NOT intended to replace a one-on-one relationship with a qualified health care professional and are not intended as medical advice. what medical practitioners do is in fact, medical advice based on science not lovely stories by various well meaning people.

  • I agree with Susan H – you are right on. Everyone in my office is on medications but me and everyone is always getting sick except me. They said I am non-human. I said I eat healthy and take supplements and recommend your site. Unfortunately, they love their medications.
