Why is this year’s flu season so bad?

Why is this year’s flu season so bad?

The 2017-2018 “flu season” is being called by many as one of the worst on record, with laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza illness at about 126,000 for the season.

The H3N2 strain (or “subtype”) of the influenza A virus is said to be especially prevalent this year, and that is allegedly why so many people are getting sick.

And of course, amid all of this, people are being urged to get their flu shots!

Plus there is a lot more to the flu situation than is reported by the (pharmaceutically funded) mainstream media, and I bet my bottom dollar you haven’t heard a word of it.

Until now.

Let’s start with the basics…

There is no such thing as a “flu season!”

Flu viruses are in our environment 365 days a year, so there is no “season”—it’s all year long!

The reason you see more sickness from October to March is because our immune systems are under assault from sugar, stress and cold temperatures, all of which can weaken your immune system function and make you far more susceptible to illness.

Think about it—In October school is well under way with kids passing illnesses around the classroom, plus Halloween is upon us with all the sugary donuts, cider and candy bars.

Next comes Thanksgiving with all its rich foods and pies.

Following that is Christmas with holiday parties galore, eggnog, cookies, cakes and candies, plus a heaping serving of stress trying to get everything done for the holidays.

Then we have New Year’s with its partying, Valentine’s Day with its candy hearts and Easter’s chocolate rabbits!

And during this time, being improperly dressed for the colder temperatures outdoors can induce hypothermia which increases your susceptibility to illness.

Basically, our immune systems are under assault for 6 months!

So is it any wonder that so many people are getting sick?

Prevalence does not equal susceptibility

Just because a certain virus is prevalent at any given time does not mean that more people should be getting sick.

Because your degree of susceptibility to illness is a reflection of the strength of your immune system.

With a strong functioning immune system, you are far less likely to get sick to begin with, and even if you do, your body can fight the virus or infection like it was designed to.

Your susceptibility is also dependent on your overall state of health, and someone whose body is dealing with one or more chronic health issues is behind the 8-ball before they even start.

For one, their bodies are already weakened and challenged by disease.  Plus they are likely on one or more medications, which further impairs their gut health and immune system function!

So what the fear-mongering mainstream media ought to be reporting on with respect to the flu are the abysmal states of our immune systems and our exploding rates of chronic diseases!

What about the flu shot?

Medical professionals and the media are still urging people to “Get your flu shot!”

Well, let’s look at that.

First of all, this year’s flu shot is about 10 percent effective…or in other words, 90 percent completely useless.  I’ll let you do the math on that one.

Plus many flu shots contain mercury or aluminum, both of which are deadly neurotoxins that can damage your brain.  Studies have shown high concentrations of aluminum in the brains of autism and Alzheimer’s patients—that should tell you something.

Mercury and aluminum are especially deadly when injected (via a shot) versus ingested (through the GI tract), because when injected into the bloodstream they have a straight shot to your brain through the blood-brain barrier.

Tamiflu dangers

There have recently been several reports of adverse reactions from the flu “wonder drug,” Tamiflu, especially among young people, and the FDA is warning healthcare providers of reported neuropsychiatric events associated with Tamiflu in pediatric patients.

Symptoms such as hallucinations, delirium and abnormal behavior leading to injury, and in some cases with fatal outcomes, may occur shortly after beginning Tamiflu.

Looks like Mom was right about the flu—if you get it, rest and fluids are your best options.

Fight back at the flu naturally—with something called your immune system!

Here are 5 ways you can boost your immune system so it can better protect you against the flu and every other virus, infection and disease around:

Immune Booster #1: Probiotics

Nothing enhances your immune system like a helpful dose of the same beneficial bacteria that reside in your gut and house about 70 percent of that immune system!

The key is taking a full-spectrum probiotic supplement that has a wide variety of bacteria strains, since each strain has its own “specialty” in terms of how it supports your health.

Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula delivers on that important point!

Super Shield contains 13 well-studied, potent strains of beneficial bacteria, including strains from the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, to help support your overall health and help your immune system to fight colds, flu and many other illnesses.

Immune Booster #2: Vitamin D

In addition to beating flu shots when it comes to effectiveness in preventing the flu, vitamin D is an effective antimicrobial agent--it produces up to 300 different peptides in your body that kill bacteria and viruses!

And when it comes to vitamin D supplementation, nothing beats Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B!

Optimum DK Formula is a highly innovative product that combines the well-documented immune and bone-building support of vitamin D with the unique special assistance of vitamin K, which also supports bone health and has anti-tumor properties too!

Immune Booster #3: Garlic

Garlic is a natural immune system booster.  It stimulates the production of infection-fighting white cells and enhances the efficiency of antibody production.

There's a catch, though: To get the full benefits of garlic, you have to eat it raw.

The easiest way to get some raw garlic in your diet is to crush up a clove into your salad dressing or stir it into olive oil and use as a bread dip.

Immune Booster #4: Reduce stress

Stress causes harmful changes to your gut microbes and impairs your immune functioning.

So if chronic stress is an issue for you, it’s time to do what you must to chill out.  Ask for help if you need it.

Immune Booster #5: Limit refined carbs

Nothing destroys your gut microbes and hampers your immune system functioning faster than sugar!

So be sure to limit the refined carbs, and avoid soda at all cost.

Now you know the real scoop on the flu, and you have effective strategies to help your body stay healthy 12 months a year!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia
