Is a healthy diet enough for good health?

I recently consulted with a client who reported that a close friend of hers had suffered a heart attack.

She understandably was shook up for her friend, but what the friend’s doctor said to her patient shook ME up.

Apparently, this woman had been taking a multi-vitamin and her doctor actually scolded her for it, saying she doesn’t need “that crap” and her diet will give her “all the nutrients she needs.”

Sorry doc, but you’re all wet, and it’s painfully obvious you haven’t ventured beyond the one basic course in nutrition that you took in medical school X number of years ago.

As someone who has a Master’s degree in the subject, let me clue you in on the real truth about how nutritious the average person’s diet really is, and why it’s not enough to support the body’s needs.

What’s a healthy diet?

It amazes me what people consider to be a “healthy” diet and you can thank the marketing departments of food companies for a lot of that.

Some of the more popular, supposedly healthy buzzwords on food packages include “low-fat”, “sugar-free”, “low in saturated fat” and “good source of _______ (fill in any nutrient).”

Those are translated as follows:

Low fat:  This means the fat was replaced with something unhealthy, likely sugar, to make it more palatable, because without the fat, the food probably tastes like shredded cardboard.

Sugar-free: Instead of sugar, it contains artificial sweeteners, which are arguably more deadly than sugar (and that’s really saying something).

Low in saturated fat:  The food likely contains allegedly “healthy” processed vegetable oils, which are highly inflammatory and a driving force behind our rates of heart disease.  Get your affairs in order if you eat a lot of these.

A good source of ______: Means the naturally occurring nutrients were killed in the manufacture of the food, so they had to sprinkle in some paltry nutrients to make it appear healthy.

If you want to have a healthy diet, it’s not difficult.  Do your grocery shopping around the outer perimeter of the store, where the REAL foods are located!

Fresh vegetables and fruits, meats, poultry and fish, eggs, real butter and full fat dairy—these are the foods that will help support your nutritional needs while avoiding the chemicals, artificial flavors, colors and preservatives found in processed foods.

Why a healthy diet might not be enough!

As much as I wish I could say otherwise, a healthy diet is not enough to support your body’s fight against disease and consistently provide all the nutrients you need.

Here’s why:

The air that I breathe...

One of the most common factors working against you is completely of your control.

The environment.

Toxins are all around us--in our food, air, water supply, lawn and workplace.

They can accumulate in your body (especially in your fat cells), making your body's pH more acidic, which makes it easier for disease to flourish inside of you, regardless of the health enhancing foods you eat.

Stress

Stress wreaks havoc on your digestion and your immune system.

That’s why you may find yourself getting sickness after sickness during times of stress—your body literally cannot fight off bacterial infections or viruses as well.

Plus your immune system also protects you from dangerous diseases like cancer…so being under chronic stress can have a deadly price.

What you drink matters too

I can’t tell you how frustrating it is for me as a nutrition coach when I see someone eating a healthy, nutritious meal and washing it down with a soda.

Talk about cutting your own throat!

Remember that drinks count too—so ditch the soda (whether diet or regular), keep alcohol consumption moderate, limit your coffee consumption to 1-2 cups a day, and make water your #1 beverage of choice as much as possible.

Medications—both OTC and Rx

Another big factor that can undo the positive effects of a healthy diet is medications.

Remember that even though some medications are necessary, they also throw your body out of balance, wreaking havoc with your major organs, gut microbiome, blood and nervous system.

They're chemicals that our bodies are not designed to be able to assimilate.

You never get anything "for free" when you take medications -- there's always a price to pay, over and above the small fortune many of them cost.

One of the big health costs of medications is the fact that they affect other areas of your body and can impair their functioning.  These are known as side-effects.

A tomato of yesteryear is not a tomato today

Due to bioengineering of crops, genetic modifications and depletion of soil minerals because of mass-farming, our food today is not as nutritious as it once was.

The current version of many crops contains lower levels of calcium, phosphorus, iron, riboflavin, and vitamin C than they did in 1950.

The protein content in corn has declined 50 percent since 1920, while the starch content increased.

The magnesium content of vegetables and wheat has declined by up to 25 percent.

Trace minerals in vegetable crops, including manganese, zinc, copper, and nickel, have decreased over the last several decades, while toxic minerals like aluminum, lead, and cadmium have increased.

Yes, Virginia, you probably need a multi-vitamin

The lesson here is that supplementing with a complete multi-vitamin and mineral formula is the only 100 percent reliable way to ensure your body has what it needs!

And our very own Super Core multi-vitamin and mineral formula is your ticket to solid nutrition.

I hand selected all the nutrients in Super Core to provide an effective, health-supporting variety of essential vitamins and minerals.

Plus Super Core’s effective blend goes way beyond most other multis and also includes natural sources of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories!

Antioxidants are your body’s “protective army” against the dangerous effects of free radicals.

Free radicals have been associated with premature aging, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, Type 2 diabetes, cataracts and arthritis, among other things.

Antioxidants help control free radicals and combat their dangerous effects…but they can only carry out this important job if there are enough of them!

Super Core contains nine different antioxidants to help counteract free radicals in your body!

Anti-inflammatories are also becoming increasingly important for the average person.

Many of us are in states of chronic inflammation due to things like consumption of refined carbohydrates, smoking, medication use, gut microbiome imbalances and stress.

Super Core’s unique formula includes the soothing natural anti-inflammatories turmeric, Indian frankincense extract and ginger—herbs that have been recognized for centuries for their inflammation-fighting properties.

Give your body what it needs!

Nutrition is the #1 key to a healthy, disease-free existence.

So start with a diet of wholesome real foods!

Then cover whatever areas where you may be occasionally or consistently lacking with Super Core

And pave the way for better health and feeling great into your golden years!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

  • My ex-husband and I had always managed to stay friendly after our divorce in February 2017. But I always wanted to get back together with him, All it took was a visit to this spell casters website last December, because my dream was to start a new year with my husband, and live happily with him.. This spell caster requested a specific love spell for me and my husband, and I accepted it. And this powerful spell caster began to work his magic. And 48 hours after this spell caster worked for me, my husband called me back for us to be together again, and he was remorseful for all his wrong deeds. My spell is working because guess what: My “husband” is back and we are making preparations on how to go to court and withdraw our divorce papers ASAP. This is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you Dr Emu for your powerful spells. Words are not enough.
