A special announcement for acid reflux sufferers

I have a special announcement for all you acid reflux sufferers.

Today is National Spicy Guacamole Day!

Now, if the mere thought of spicy foods like guacamole just set your chest on fire, or you think I’m off my rocker to even mention spicy foods to you, hear me out.

Because contrary to what you might think, spicy foods are NOT the cause of your acid reflux!

But when you finally look at what IS the cause of acid reflux and do something about it, chances are excellent you will be able to enjoy spicy foods without “paying for it” afterward!

Here’s what you must know:

What causes acid reflux

Acid reflux is simply the result of your body being unable to break down and digest what you’ve eaten.  It is basically revolting against you and saying, “What are you doing to me?”

And there are four primary reasons that this happens:

Acid reflux cause #1: Your diet

It never ceases to amaze me how people eat fast food, junk food or smorgasbord-type meals, day in and day out, then wonder why their chest is on fire every night.

That's like saying you're surprised that your thumb is throbbing after you slam it with a hammer.

If you have acid reflux, it's time to face the music--YOUR DIET is the main cause of your misery.

Accept it, and then do something about it--like changing your diet to include more nutritious REAL foods—stuff that doesn’t come with a bar code and ingredients you can’t pronounce.  Ditch the soda too while you’re at it.

Also, just as important as what you eat is what foods you pair together in your meals!

Certain food combinations are very taxing on your system and when you eat meals that your body can’t break down like it should, you are rolling out the red carpet for acid reflux.

But the good news is, combining the RIGHT foods together paves the way for smooth, comfortable, complete digestion and no more acid reflux!

My Great Taste No Pain system will show you exactly what to do, and give you the meal planning advice and suggestions you need to make all of your meals pain-free.

Now don’t worry—you can still enjoy foods you love!  You just need to be a little more careful about what you pair together.

Plus you’ll get a collection of yummy recipes that you and your family will love.

By the way, eating the Great Taste No Pain way is what completely eliminated my IBS 25 years ago, never to return.

Acid reflux cause #2: Enzyme shortages

If you've had a typical modern diet for quite some time, chances are excellent that you have expended far more digestive enzymes than Nature ever intended you to.

As a result, your body's ability to produce enough enzymes may be diminished...and this can be a major contributing factor to poor digestion and acid reflux!

Plus as we age, our bodies' ability to produce enzymes naturally decreases, so people over 50 are a greater risk.

In addition, anyone who has had gastric surgery or their gallbladder removed is very likely looking at enzyme issues.

If you suspect enzymes are a concern for you, or just want to help your body along, then a potent, complete enzyme supplement like Digestizol Max is your ticket for getting the help you need.

Digestizol Max’s blend of 15 plant-derived enzymes will help your body tackle literally ANY type of food you eat, and conserve your body’s precious enzymes too.

And its soothing herbs will help quiet any inflammation you might have brewing in your GI tract.

Acid reflux cause #3: Stress

Digestion is a parasympathetic process, meaning your body must be in a relaxed, non-stressed state for it to be carried out like it should.

Eating in a relaxed state also encourages you to eat slower, which means that your body can recognize satiety before you overeat (and bring on a bout of acid reflux).

But if you instead eat when your sympathetic nervous system is in gear (such as when you're working, driving, emotionally upset, stressed, rushing, etc.) that can have a devastating impact on your digestion and lead to reflux.

So slow down and relax!  Avoid eating in a stressed state.  Make time for meals and don't eat on the run.

Acid reflux cause #4: Smoking

Nothing destroys your digestion like smoking.

So add this to the list of reasons that you should put that deadly habit behind you for good.  There are many stop smoking aids and programs out there—get the help you need.

Life after acid reflux

Once you tackle the root causes of your acid reflux, a whole new world free of heartburn can open up for you!

And get this--you will likely soon find that you can enjoy spicy dishes too!  Most spices are alkaline and are actually good for your body!

So when you are ready to “take the plunge” and prove to yourself that you CAN enjoy spicy foods and feel great afterward, here is one of my favorite recipes that you can try…in honor of National Spicy Guacamole Day!

SHERRY’S BEST GUACAMOLE

  • OMG, I can’t believe this. I just got an email today and recognized Sherry’s name from the late 1990s. I was telling Shivan Sharma who hosted a SIBO summit last year, about Sherry and how in the late 1990s or early 2000s Sherry had said not to eat fruit or sweets after having a protein meal. If having fruit or sweets eat it 15 or more minutes before eating your protein foods. She had said at that time that proteins take hours to digest and if you eat sugars/fruit the sweets/fruits will ferment causing issues such as overgrowth of bacteria. I followed her advise for years and it worked very well. Then I started menopause, had terrible stress due to terminal family member, and other issues which caused SIBO. I lost track of Sherry so I took “Tincure of Death” and NAC SAP to clear up my SIBO. I’ll make sure keep a link to this website. So glad to have found Sherry again. Take care and be safe to all of you.

  • Hi Maria!

To help prevent acid reflux, we recommend following Sherry’s eating program, Great Taste No Pain.

To help improve digestion regardless, we recommend considering our digestive enzyme blend, called Digestizol Max. It is taken with meals to help break down your foods better.

To help you when you already have reflux or other digestive upset, we recommend considering Gastro BeCalm Blend. It contains powerful herbs that soothe your digestive tract.

We hope this helps! Feel free to email us at support@holisticblends.com with any other questions!

  • Hi Judy!

Thank you for reaching out. We’re sorry to hear of your H. Pylori diagnosis!

Sherry did write about ulcers and H. Pylori here:

Please check it out and let us know if you have any other questions!

  • My doctor found h-pylori in my stool sample. It may be an ulcer. He wants me to take a big round of antibiotics to kill the h-pylori which I refuse to do. Does Sherri address the h-pylori issue anywhere that you can refer me to?
