The depression causes no one talks about

If you are among the 1 out of 10 Americans that is depressed and are not seeing any improvements (or worse yet, are suffering nasty side effects) from the SSRI antidepressants you’ve been given, there is a very good reason for that.

Because depression is not always a matter of your brain not hanging on to serotonin long enough!

There are many pieces of the depression puzzle, and certainly a traumatic life event (such as a death, divorce or job loss) can trigger a depressed state of mind—and that has nothing to do with your brain chemistry.

In addition, there are 3 very significant other causes of depression that I bet my bottom dollar have not been mentioned by your doctor or therapist.

Plus there are 2 other “taboo” factors that may be triggering depression behind the scenes that no one (except me) dares to talk about!

Let’s look and see what may be behind YOUR depression and how you can start feeling a whole lot better fast!

Depression cause #1: Lacking sleep

Regularly lacking sleep has been shown to exacerbate or worsen depression symptoms, as well as decrease your tolerance to pain.

How to help: If you want a chance of having sound mental (and physical) health, you must get decent sleep on a regular basis.

Aim to get seven to nine hours a night.  If you have trouble falling asleep, try chamomile tea, taking a warm bath or using Lavender essential oil on your pillow.

Depression cause #2: B vitamin deficiency

Vitamins B3, B6 and B12 are essential to proper mental health, and without them your brain can actually produce chemicals that make you feel insane.  Lacking in these vital nutrients can lead to a whole series of disturbing symptoms including:

  • Feeling unreal or disconnected
  • Hearing your own thoughts
  • Anxiety and inner tension
  • Suspicious of people
  • Inability to think straight
  • Frequent mood swings
  • Seeing or hearing things abnormally
  • Having delusions or illusions

How to help: A B vitamin deficiency is relatively easy to overcome…IF you use the right form of supplementation!

And Hydroxaden 2.5 B12 spray can help make sure you’re getting the crucial B vitamins you need for strong mental functioning!

Hydroxaden 2.5 is a sublingual spray that provides a therapeutic dose of B12, plus its mental health teammates vitamins B3 and B6, as well as riboflavin (vitamin B2).

The sublingual delivery is important and here’s why:  Vitamin B12 absorbency in the GI tract is severely limited by factors such as poor digestion, an unhealthy gut microbiome and use of acid reducers.  But with Hydroxaden 2.5, the B12 can be quickly and efficiently absorbed into your bloodstream through the mucus membranes in your mouth!

So you don’t miss a drop!

Depression cause #3: Gut flora imbalances

You may not realize this, but your gut produces 90 percent of the serotonin in your body…so if it’s unhealthy and not able to do its job, that can definitely darken your mood.

Unfortunately, many Americans have diets that are high in processed foods and refined carbs, plus we take antibiotics and acid reducers by the truckload—and ALL of these can seriously impair your gut microbiome, creating an environment that favors harmful pathogens and keeps your gut from working optimally.

How to help: When it comes to encouraging a healthy gut flora balance, although fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi can be very helpful, probiotic supplementation is your ticket to making sure that your population of friendly inhabitants is where it needs to be.

And Super Shield probiotic formula is just the supplement that’s up to this important challenge.

Super Shield’s 13 strains of well-studied, helpful bacteria help to repopulate your supply of friendly bacteria, fight off and crowd out dangerous pathogens, help encourage better digestion, boost your immune system functioning…

And help create a healthy gut environment that makes serotonin like it’s supposed to!

Now for the 2 taboo depression factors!

Here are 2 factors that may be quietly working behind the scenes with depression that you’ll never hear about in the mainstream media:

Taboo depression factor #1: Mercury

Mercury is the most potent, deadly neurotoxin known to man, and in the brain it can lead to depression (as well as many other conditions including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s).

One of the most widespread sources of mercury exposure is flu shots.  Many flu shots contain a mercury preservative (thimerosal), which when injected can swiftly and easily make its way straight to your brain.

Flu shots contain 12.5 mcg of mercury in each .25 mL (one-quarter millimeter) dose—which is 25,000 times the EPA safe limit.

What makes this worse is that mercury bio-accumulates in the brain, so you “add to the mercury pile” every time you get a flu shot that contains thimerosal.

How to help: Vitamin D has been shown in recent studies to be far more effective than flu shots at preventing the flu!

Plus vitamin D deficiency in and of itself is another underlying factor behind depression!  This is especially true with seasonal affective disorder—which typically occurs in the winter when people do not get the sunlight their bodies need to manufacture vitamin D.

To help ensure your Vitamin D level is strong, rely on Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B!

Optimum DK Formula provides a therapeutic dose of 5,000 IUs of vitamin D (which is more realistic and health-promoting than the paltry RDA of 600 IUs, which is about enough to prevent rickets!).

Taboo depression factor #2: Medications

Many medications can cause depression including:

  • Accutane (for acne)
  • Anticonvulsants
  • Barbiturates
  • Benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety meds such as Ativan, Klonopin, Librium, Valium and Xanax)
  • Beta-blockers for high blood pressure (including Lopressor, Tenormin and Coreg)
  • Bromocriptine (for Parkinson’s)
  • Calcium-channel blockers for high blood pressure (such as Cardizem, Tiazac and Procardia)
  • Estrogens such as Premarin and Prempro
  • Antibiotics including Cipro and Floxin
  • Interferon alpha for cancers
  • Norplant for birth control
  • Opioids (including codeine, morphine, Demerol, Percodan and OxyContin)
  • Statins (Mevacor, Zocor, Lescol and Lipitor)
  • Zovirax (to treat shingles and herpes)

If you are on any of these medications and are depressed, I URGE you to talk to your doctor about alternatives.

For example, fish oil formulas like VitalMega-3 can safely and naturally help lower blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as ease pain and inflammation.

Therapy, exercise and acupuncture can help curb anxiety.

A strong-functioning immune system boosted by probiotics like Super Shield and Vitamin D supplements (like Optimum DK Formula with FruiteX-B) can eliminate the need for antibiotics.

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) can safely and naturally help restore healthier hormone levels in the menopausal years.

If your doctor refuses to discuss alternatives or all he/she wants to do is push medications at you, find another doctor who will listen to your concerns and consider alternatives.

If you’ve been suffering from depression and medication isn’t helping, take comfort in the fact that there is so much more you can do!

Look at all the factors that may be affecting your mood and do what you can to turn them around and start feeling better.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia
