Become a less attractive home for COVID-19 (and other sickness)

I think it’s safe to say that most of us don’t want to catch a bacterial or viral infection…and many people are understandably concerned about what would happen if they got sick (especially in the wake of the COVID-19 situation).

But the interesting thing about bacteria and viruses is that not everyone is “fair game” to get sick.

Some people seem to catch everything that’s going around, while others almost never get sick—even when they are around sick people!

So what’s the difference?  Why is one person a magnet for bugs and viruses while others seem to repel them?

Well, a lot of it has to do with these two specific things—

  • The level of inflammation in your body and
  • The strength of your immune system.

Here’s what I mean:

Inflammation and sickness go hand in hand

The level of inflammation in your body has a HUGE impact on whether or not you will get sick.

Now, it’s important to know that all inflammation is NOT created equal--it can be acute or chronic.

Acute inflammation is your body's inherent response to challenges like infections, injuries or insect bites.  It's a sign that your body is attempting to fix the problem and make you better.  Once the healing process is underway, acute inflammation subsides.

But chronic inflammation is whole other animal.

This is when inflammation is NOT related to an isolated health challenge, but instead becomes more constant and long-term.

When your body is in a state of chronic inflammation, it simply cannot fight off illness and heal itself the way it’s supposed to.

Plus, it is unable to effectively use vitamins and minerals as well—so the resulting nutrient deficiencies challenge your health even MORE!

Chronic inflammation can manifest itself in a number of ways, including our two top killers—heart disease and cancer.

It also is the primary underlying factor behind arthritis, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, high blood pressure, repeated bacterial and viral infections, elevated cholesterol, migraines, Type 2 diabetes, skin conditions, degenerative joint disease, stroke and more.

Simply put, chronic inflammation makes you a very attractive home for bacteria and viruses to come knocking—including COVID-19, the flu, pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infections, the common cold, stomach bugs, etc.

Now for the other player here…

Your army of good guys—AKA your precious immune system

Your immune system is an incredibly intelligent army that is operating on full cycle 24 hours a day and is the primary determining factor behind whether you are reading this blog today, or did not wake up this morning.

In addition to protecting you against colds, viruses and infections, your immune system also protects you against devastating diseases like cancer.

Over and above its own very important job, your immune system also has the ability to communicate and work with other systems of the body.

The immune system engages with and assists with the functioning of your endocrine system (encouraging proper hormone levels), your nervous system (supporting brain and nerve health) and your detoxification system (which is vital to eliminate dangerous wastes and toxins that can make you sick).

Put up your No Vacancy sign for viruses and infections!

Clearly, curbing chronic inflammation and supporting the strong functioning of your immune system is in your best interest in so many ways!

Here are 2 simple ways you can help achieve this possibly life-saving goal:

1- Get enough Omega-3 essential fatty acids

Omega-3 essential fatty acids are Nature’s anti-inflammatory, but unfortunately most of us are grossly deficient in these crucial fats.

It didn’t used to be that way.  Way back when, we used to get a healthful supply of Omega-3 EFAs from the meat, milk and eggs from pasture-raised animals, since the grasses they ate were bountiful sources of Omega-3s.

But now the animals for our food supply are grain-fed (many times with GMO grains to boot!)—which not only means they don’t give us the Omega-3 fats they used to, but they also are loaded with inflammation-stirring Omega-6 fats instead!

Plus, processed foods and vegetable oils also stir up inflammation, and heaven knows we eat our share of those!

So, we are adding fuel to the inflammation fire every day, and our poor bodies are paying the price.

Although fatty fish are a good source of Omega-3s, much of the fish in the supermarkets is farmed and contaminated with disease and pollutants, which makes them more harmful than helpful!

To make sure your body maintains a health-supporting level of Omega-3 EFAs, supplementation with a pure pharmaceutical-grade fish oil formula like VitalMega-3 is crucial.

VitalMega-3 provides a soothing 1,200 mg of anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fats in every 2-capsule dose, including the Superstars EPA and DHA—that are critical for your brain and cardiovascular health.

2- Support your gut microbiome

Since 70 percent of your immune system resides in your gut microbiome, it's essential to make sure that you have a healthy supply of beneficial bacteria populating your gut wall.

Having a healthy whole foods diet is very important in this regard, but for most people it's not enough.

This is especially true for people under stress, who smoke, use antacids or other medications, are exposed to environmental toxins, drink tap water, eat a lot of sugar or refined carbs, or people who don't always get adequate sleep.

That's why probiotic supplementation is so helpful for just about everyone.

For a probiotic supplement that's up to the challenge, Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula is as good as it gets.

One of Super Shield's 13 superior friendly bacteria strains, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, has been shown to stimulate immune antibody production.

In addition, Super Shield also contains Bifidobacteria Lactis, which has high adhesion to human mucus.  That means it will stick to your colon wall to keep it strong and protective, which helps keep dangerous toxins, viruses and bacteria from leaking into your bloodstream and making you SICK!

Now you have the information you need to help make your body an unsuitable home for viruses and infections of all kinds!

To your health,

Sherry Brescia
