You’ve been lied to—statins are NOT safe!

My math may be slightly off, but I’d estimate that 75 percent of the new clients that consult with me for diet and health advice are on statins.

75 PERCENT!

And the thing is, none of them really feels good!  Instead they report feeling tired, no energy, aches and pains, headaches and foggy thinking.

When I enlighten them that ALL those symptoms are side effects of statins, they look shocked.

“But my doctor told me statins are SAFE!”

Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that is absolutely a lie.

Here’s why:

They “work” by shutting down your liver

Statins “work” by shutting down your liver’s product of cholesterol.

In that respect, they are like acid reducers (which shut down your stomach’s production of acid) and antidepressants (that shut down your brain’s ability to vacuum up excess serotonin).

I don’t know about you, but I don’t get a warm fuzzy about preventing my liver (or any of my organs) from doing anything they were designed by Nature to do!

Let’s look at the side effects

Here are the side effects of the 2 biggest blockbuster statins—Lipitor and Crestor.

Tell me how “safe” they look to you:

Lipitor:

  • Liver failure
  • Increased risk of diabetes
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Memory loss
  • Kidney stones
  • Chest pain
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Inflammation of the GI tract
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Anemia
  • Low energy
  • Hair loss
  • Muscle pain
  • Leg cramps
  • Fluid retention

Crestor:

  • Headache
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Muscle pain
  • Liver failure
  • Breakdown of muscles which can cause kidney failure & death
  • Increased risk of diabetes
  • Memory loss

All I can say is if you still believe statins are safe, then there’s a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.

Onward.

3 assertions about cholesterol and heart disease

When talking about heart disease, mainstream medicine typically parrots 3 distinct assertions—the first of which is 100 percent correct, the second is only partially correct, and the third is downright wrong!

Assertion #1: Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide.

As much as I would like to dispute that fact, I can’t.  Sadly, it’s 100 percent true.

Assertion #2: High cholesterol leads to clogged arteries that can cause a heart attack or stroke.

This is only partially accurate—cholesterol is part of the “mix” when it comes to clogged arteries, but inflammation is truly the guilty party.

Here’s why that is:

First and foremost, cholesterol does serve some very important purposes in your body including these:

  • It's used to make hormones
  • It acts as a “healing salve” for injuries and tears in your tissues and blood vessels
  • It makes up the myelin sheath that protects your nerves

Now, inflammation is part of your body’s repair process—cholesterol and white blood cells come to the rescue when you’re injured and that’s how the healing process is carried out.

But the problem arises when inflammation in your body becomes chronic.

Chronic inflammation in your arteries causes a repetitive signal for cholesterol to come on the scene and do its repair work.  However, it's not a cholesterol buildup exclusively that will clog an artery.

On the contrary, when your body goes into overdrive trying to heal a chronically inflamed artery, in addition to summoning cholesterol, that area also becomes a magnet for fibrous proteins called fibrinogens, calcium deposits, and wastes and toxins in your blood.

ALL these substances can keep building up and building up until eventually you have plaque.

So it's INFLAMMATION that's the real culprit behind clogged arteries--not cholesterol.

Assertion #3: Most cholesterol is made by the liver, so diet changes have little effect on it.

This is downright WRONG.

Your diet has a HUGE impact on the level of inflammation in your arteries, as well as health of your liver and its ability to effectively carry out its many functions—including making proper amounts of cholesterol and getting rid of old, worn-out cholesterol from your body.

Plus your digestion is key here too because your liver dumps old worn out cholesterol into your colon to be eliminated with your feces.

But when you have poor digestion and/or chronic constipation, the old cholesterol can instead get reabsorbed through the intestinal wall back into circulation…and drive up your cholesterol level.

So in all honesty, what most doctors should be beating the drum about is a healthy diet and regular bowel movements!

Now you know better

Now you know that statins are not the “safe miracle drug” they’ve been made out to be.

Luckily, there are safe, natural ways you can help reduce your cholesterol and help prevent heart disease!

And unlike dangerous statins, these options are free of side effects!

1) Eat your way to lower cholesterol

Unhealthy fats and refined sugars can both stir up inflammation in your arteries.

Plus since fiber acts like a broom in your colon to help sweep away excess cholesterol, a diet low in fiber can raise your cholesterol.

So it's crucial to have a healthy, fiber-rich diet and Great Taste No Pain system can guide you all the way.

Great Taste No Pain teaches you ALL the dangers of unhealthy fats and refined sugar.

It also guides you in having a more balanced diet including smart proteins and fats, and fiber-rich fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains and legumes which can help whisk away old cholesterol instead of leaving it to be reabsorbed.

And the best part is Great Taste No Pain truly lives up to its name--every single dish in the recipe section is mouth-watering delicious.

2) Lower inflammation naturally

Two of Nature’s greatest anti-inflammatories are Omega-3 fatty acids and turmeric.

Mountains of studies have reported decreases in cholesterol of up to 20 percent in just 10 DAYS by boosting Omega-3 EFA's through diet and supplementation!

VitalMega-3 is a top quality molecularly distilled fish oil that delivers a whopping 1,000 mg of soothing EPA+DHA Omega-3 fats in every daily two-capsule serving.

Plus turmeric has been shown in numerous studies to be incredibly powerful in helping to lower cholesterol!

And our outstanding Optimal Turmeric Blend can provide 750 mg of pure, organic turmeric to help you engage the power of this wonder spice and keep your cholesterol at a healthy level.

3) Engage the power of probiotics

Probiotics can help reduce blood cholesterol in these 3 ways:

  1. They create acids that counter cholesterol production
  2. They break down bile acids, so your liver has to “use up” excess cholesterol to make more
  3. They actually "eat" cholesterol too!

When it comes to well-researched, full-spectrum probiotic formulas, nothing beats Super Shield!

One of Super Shield's powerhouse probiotic strains, Lactobacillus Acidophilus DDS-1, is a wonder strain when it comes to maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

L.Acidophilus DDS-1 "eats" cholesterol like I mentioned above, plus it also helps digest proteins and carbs, and produces B vitamins, folic acid, and lactase (which reduces lactose intolerance).

And of course, probiotics help to encourage regular bowel movements too (which are vital to eliminating old cholesterol).

    4) Get regular exercise

Regular exercise is essential for cardiovascular health!

No excuses are allowed!  We’re talking about your health and life here and nothing is more important.

Just get your doctor’s OK first and get moving at least 4 times per week.

Don't think for one minute longer that dangerous statins (with their deadly side effects) are your only option for managing cholesterol and helping to prevent heart disease.

Instead take safe measures to ensure your body maintains healthy cholesterol levels naturally!

    To your health,

    Sherry Brescia

    • I am 81 and am an active senior. However, I have high blood pressure which micardis med helps to control. However, when I was told to take calcium channel blockers, the side effects were awful. They gave me stomach pains, and other awful side effects and nausea. I stopped them and now the micardis is struggling by itself to lower the blood pressure. What do you have to help keep my pressure down better without drugs? I only weigh 134 lbs and eat OK and exercise but still get bloat and tight feelings left over from the channel blockers, amlodipine and then later verapamil. That is what messed up my stomach which was fine before.
