Thanksgiving is upon us!
This is a time to be thankful for all of our blessings—and even if times are difficult for you right now, if you have a roof over your head, food on your table and warm clothes to wear, you are blessed.
Now, Thanksgiving is an interesting paradox because it starts out with sheer excitement and anticipation about all the delicious food that is being prepared.
And it ends with absolute agony and suffering over that very same food.

In case you’re wondering, there’s an entire chapter of desserts! Because when you lose weight the smart way—without dieting, deprivation, shakes or pills—you CAN enjoy an occasional dessert and not pay the price (or pack on the pounds) afterwards!
Here it is—I hope you enjoy it:
Chocolate Grand Marnier Mousse
7 oz. good quality semi-sweet chocolate
6 large eggs, separated
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
Chilled whipped heavy cream for topping (optional)
Melt the chocolate in double boiler or a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water. Remove chocolate, set aside and cool to room temperature.
Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
Beat the egg yolks into the melted chocolate, then stir in the Grand Marnier.
Carefully fold in the whisked egg whites. Pour into 6 custard dishes and let chill for 3 hours before serving.
Top with whipped cream if desired.
