When you’re suffering from acid reflux (aka heartburn or GERD), it’s usually pretty easy to tell.
Laryngopharyngeal reflux, or LPR, is a backflow of your stomach contents, including acid and digestive enzymes, into your airway.
It’s actually an “extension” of acid reflux and expands its reach to affect all parts of your airway—including your nose, sinuses, larynx (voice box), throat, trachea (wind pipe), bronchi and lungs.
So instead of the typical acid reflux burning, with LPR you could notice these symptoms:
In addition to the dangers of acid reflux (which include damage to the esophagus and tooth enamel, nutrient deficiencies, Barrett’s esophagus and a higher risk of esophageal cancer) people with LPR can also suffer from scarring of the larynx and trachea, poor sleep and voice changes.
Plus LPR can trigger attacks of asthma and worsen sleep apnea in people who have those conditions.
If you’ve noticed symptoms like I mentioned above and haven’t been able to pinpoint what’s going on, see your doctor and have him test for LPR.
Stop it now! It’s easier than you think!
Whether you have “traditional” heartburn or acid reflux, or if it has “expanded” into LPR, the good news is you can help turn it around FAST!
You see, reflux is simply a sign that your body is having trouble completing digestion the way it should.
And that, my friend, is overwhelmingly the result of YOUR DIET, and there are two possibilities here:
- You eat a lot of processed (packaged) food and fast food, which are inherently difficult for your body to break down. Compounding this is if your drink of choice is soda—that’s the icing on the cake.
- You pair foods together in your meals that require opposing digestive enzymes (acid vs. alkaline) and therefore your enzymes weaken or neutralize each other in the stomach.
In either case, what you’re looking at is ruined digestion, gas and bloating, poor nutrient absorption and…
But you can help make a huge difference in how you feel by avoiding processed and fast foods (and soda!), and pairing foods together in your meals that your body can break down easier.
Great Taste No Pain shows you the simple tweaks you need to make to your meals to make them easier for your body to tackle, plus gives you loads of delicious ways to enjoy real (not packaged or junk) foods that taste positively spectacular!
If you’ve suffered from reflux and poor digestion for a while or as long as you can remember, this can also have an effect further down below too--in your friendly intestinal flora.
Trust me, if gas, bloating and constipation are your daily companions and especially if you seem to get sick a lot, chances are excellent your flora balance may not be what it should…and your intestinal environment may favor harmful bacteria (known as dysbiosis
But you can help promote a healthier intestinal flora balance by encouraging better digestion like I mentioned above, as well as supplementing with a top quality probiotic like Super Shield
Super Shield gives your system a boost of 13 species of friendly bacteria that will help repopulate your supply of these helpful microbes, so they can in turn get busy smoothing out your BMs, easing gas and bloating and supporting your immune system.
